On April 20, 1995, Anawim Homes opened its doors not as an institution, but as a family. Founded by Mother Onomoresoa Agatha Selo-Ojeme through the Association for the Poorest of the Poor, the work has grown into a refuge for abandoned children, the homeless, the mentally ill, and marginalised women.
We believe every human life carries infinite worth, regardless of social class, tribe, religion, or condition. Our work is not charity alone. It is the restoration of dignity.
To restore the dignity of the oppressed and the poor through education, healthcare, shelter, and sustainable development.
A world where everyone has access to basic needs, education, and opportunity regardless of background.
"The vision burns right inside my heart, and until I accomplish God's desire, I will not rest."
Mother Onomoresoa Agatha Selo-Ojeme, Foundress

Learn MoreAnawim Homes gave me more than a roof. They gave me a family, an education, and a future I never thought was possible. I am now in secondary school and I want to become a doctor.
When I was brought to Anawim, I had nothing — not even my name. The sisters cleaned me, fed me, and treated me. Today I am healthy, and I have learned a trade. I am a new person.
As a volunteer doctor, I have seen firsthand what this organisation does. They don't just give food — they restore hope. Every visit reminds me why I became a doctor.
I was a single mother with nowhere to go. Anawim took me and my two children in, gave us shelter, enrolled my children in school, and helped me learn to sew. We are now independent.
Volunteers help children learn, support healthcare outreaches, maintain the homes, mentor young people, and stand beside residents as they rebuild their lives.
