Anawim Glory Home is an expanding mission in Dukpa, Gwagwalada, created to provide shelter, education, skills, rehabilitation, and care for vulnerable boys, youths, and persons living with physical or mental health challenges.
History of Anawim Glory Home
Due to the successful record of Anawim’s humanitarian services, the Dukpa community chiefs awarded the Home 2.6 acres of land for continuity and development in the Dukpa community. The purpose is to provide education, skills, and shelter for vulnerable youths.
The Anawim family decided to open another orphanage, still under development, called Anawim Glory Home, to restore and revitalize the poor in their dignity and human status. It was officially inaugurated on 22 October 2022 at Dukpa, Gwagwalada Area Council, FCT Abuja.
The mission of Anawim Glory Home in Dukpa is to provide shelter for boys, youths, and physically and mentally challenged persons, to rehabilitate and care for them, and to protect vulnerable youths from crisis, depression, drug abuse, crime, exploitation, and other dangers that can harm both them and society.
Dukpa Community
Dukpa is a community in Gwagwalada Area Council, Abuja, Federal Republic of Nigeria. Gwagwalada is located along the Abuja-Lokoja road, about 55km southwest of Abuja city centre.
Dukpa has many youths affected by poverty and limited economic opportunity, leaving some homeless and exposed to crisis and danger. One major challenge in the community is the lack of shelter, especially with the high number of migrants who came seeking refuge after insurgency destroyed their homes and properties.
Our Challenges
In Dukpa, many homeless and helpless youths and migrants are exposed to harm, including drugs, cultism, molestation, prostitution, and kidnapping as a result of poverty and lack of education.
Anawim Glory Home has 2.6 acres of land to provide accommodation for one hundred homeless orphans, youths, and physically and mentally challenged persons. Already, twelve Brothers are giving their selfless service, while four orphan boys and two mentally ill patients are being sheltered and cared for.
Anawim Glory Home is ready to offer selfless humanitarian service to the community by providing necessary human needs. Lack of funds has kept many dreams and ambitions unrealized, and financial support is needed to erect structural accommodation for orphan boys, youths, and physically and mentally challenged persons.
